Ken Davis is joined by Nicole Robinson from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. She explains that her agency provides 160,000 meals a day throughout Cook County, but even that doesn’t meet the demand. About 812,000 people in the County are “food insecure”, she says. In fact, in Cook County, there are communities where more than half of residents are incapable of accessing adequate food on a daily basis. Worse still, Robinson says, 90% of these people are employed. They just can’t earn enough to pay rent, utilities and other expenses. Happy Holidays! This program was produced by Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV).
