“The Cost of Health Crisis: Measuring the Economic and Human Toll of Pandemics”

On January 14, 2015, the Illinois Humanities Council and the Chicago Public Library hosted a discussion on the effects Ebola and other public health crises have on society.What are the roles of businesses, individuals and public policy to protect citizens during a potential health risk? The event was streamed live on CAN TV. 

Speakers included Dr. Robert A. Weinstein, Professor of Medicine, Former Chairman of Medicine, Cook County Health and Hospitals System; Dr. Catherine Belling, Associate Professor, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University; Dr. Rena Conti, Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of Chicago; Dr. Bruce Lambert, Professor; Director, Center for Communication and Health, Northwestern University and moderated by Odette Yousef, Reporter, WBEZ.
