CAN TV42 is fast becoming a go-to place for music fans in Chicago that enjoy the signature sound of jazz and blues.
In what media blogger Robert Feder calls a “wide-ranging partnership,” CAN TV teamed up with WDCB Jazz Radio (90.9fm) in June to feature the radio station on CAN TV42. The partnership gives Chicago cable viewers the timeless qualities of jazz and blues 24 hours a day along with access to information on jobs, educational opportunities, health screenings and more from Chicago nonprofits.
WDCB staff at jazz fests around the City this summer got terrific feedback. “The number of people who came up to our booth at jazzfest, out of the blue and said, ‘Hey, WDCB, I listen to you on TV all the time, Channel 42!’ That was not a small number of people,” said Dan Bindert, WDCB station manager. “I think it speaks volumes to the value of our partnership and the level of viewership CAN TV has built in for its channels.”
Community producer and jazz enthusiast, Grady Davis, put a video on CAN TV to spread the word to more viewers to tune into CAN TV42 for jazz throughout the day.
“I’ve heard positive feedback from many jazz lovers,” said Davis. “They appreciate the fact that they can watch CAN TV42 and listen to musicians like Miles Davis and Jimmy Smith.”
The bottom line? Bindert says, “We are very happy to be in partnership with CAN TV.”
