For the second year in a row, CAN TV’s Chicago Newsroom was honored by the Chicago International Film Festival Television Awards.
The program gets back to the basics of local news analysis with host Ken Davis. Every week, a panel of Chicago journalists, bloggers, and newsmakers join Davis to review the week’s top local stories. Says Davis, “As conventional TV devotes less and less time to this type of programming, the role of Chicago Newsroom on CAN TV becomes more important.”
Chicago Newsroom received a Silver Plaque in the Public Access Category at the 50th Chicago International Film Festival Television Awards ceremony on April 10. Later this month, the program will be recognized with a Best of the Midwest Achievement Award in Madison, Wisconsin by event sponsor, Wisconsin Community Media.
Chicago Newsroom is on cable channel CAN TV19 in Chicago Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and online at cantv.org/newsroom.
